A few words from the President ~
In
1930, my father, L. Roy Ford started the Ford Fence Co., a residential
and industrial fence company in Broad Ripple, Indiana. The
orginial office was located where College Ave. and Broad Ripple Ave.
come together . Then that was on the outskirts of
Indianapolis.
Today,
Broad Ripple is located in the metropolitan area of Indianapolis, which
we affectionately call Indy or Circle City.
Broad
Ripple is also known for its High School, which David
Letterman and I attended.
Letterman was there about 10 years
after I graduated in 1948. I
also attended Purdue University graduating straight into the Air Force
as a
radar mechanic. In 1954, I went back to the fence
company.
In
1940, my father started manufacturing the woven wire partitions used to
increase security in the defense plants. In 1950, Ford Fence installed
the new fence that surrounds the Indianapolis Motor
Speedway. "THE INDY or 500", 2009” will be the 93rd
running of the 500 mile race held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

| In 1960, Jerold became
president
of Ford Fence and designed a
special lock for the Wire Partition Industry. He called the lock MULTI
LOCK because of its versatility.
MULTI
LOCK’S business grew to such a point that he sold the Wire Mesh
Partition business and concentrated his efforts promoting and selling
the MULTI LOCK .
Always
attuned to new markets, MULTI LOCK continues to develop
new applications for the lock. The newest design is the ORNAMENTAL
IRON CUSTOM GATE LOCK featuring the new Chrysanthemum handle and
the new PC-LOCK for locking your personal computer CPU
tower and preventing unauthorized access to your data.
